Hap Small Boys Baseball League and Ponytail Girls Softball Leauge

These leagues are designed for children grades Kindergarten through Eighth Form. The Metropolis of Burbank offers non-competitive T-Ball and Coach Pitch divisions for grades Thousand-two and competitive baseball and softball for grades 3-eight. The season concludes with the annual Civitan Day Jamboree complete with a parade showcase and various skills claiming events for the players.

These leagues normally run in Spring (March - June).

Fall Ball Fast Pitch Softball

This highly competitive league is designed for girls at 10u, 12u, 14u and loftier schoolhouse levels. This league is more travel-team orriented and calls for more than avant-garde skill levels than the Ponytail league. Games typically consist of double-headers every weekend for x weeks.

This league usually runs in the Autumn (September - November).

Burbank Players League (BPL)

This highly competitive league is designed for boys at T-ball, 10u, 12u, 14u and loftier school levels. This league is more than travel-team orriented and calls for more than advanced skill levels than the Hap Pocket-sized league. Games typically consist of double-headers every Sunday for x weeks.

This league normally runs in the Wintertime (January - March).

Flag Football

This league is designed for children in 3rd through Eighth course. Private sign-ups open in June and team registration starts in July.

This league usually runs in the Autumn (August - November).

Runted Basketball League

This league is designed for children in Third through Eighth class. Individual sign-ups and squad registration start in October. This league usually runs in the Winter (Nov-February).

This league is designed for children in 3rd through Eighth Course. Individual sign-ups begin in June.

This league usually runs in the Fall (August - Oct).

Player Involvement Listing

Individual players interested in playing will be placed on a Player Interest List. Players' names are distributed to existing teams expressing an interest in calculation new players or to new teams that are forming. For those players not contacted and placed on a team, their parents are required to attend a parent's coming together. The purpose of these meetings is to recruit new coaches. Staff will make every attempt to recruit coaches for these players, yet there is no guarantee of placement on a team. Private players interested in playing these sports should contact the Sports Office at (818) 238-5330.

All youth teams are coached past volunteers looking to make the difference in the lives of children. The Parks & Recreation Department strives to detect a squad for each child interested in gaining a sports experience that is fun and enriching. Volunteers are needed at every level with varying skill sets. Preparation resources and certifications are available. Your time is a valuable asset to teach life skills to children such as team work, confidence, piece of work ethic, and perseverance.

Requirements:

  • LiveScan background check - offered through the Metropolis of Burbank office
  • National Eye for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) groundwork check - link provided by Sports Office staff
  • NYSCA Coaches Certification
  • Annals with the Burbank Volunteer Programme (BVP)
